My Story

Kelly is a life-long teacher.  She began her career as an elementary and special education teacher and has taught grades Pre-K through university.  In addition to being a faculty member, Kelly served as the dean of the School of Education on the Bristol campus.  She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in Critical Pedagogy, Diversity, and Social Justice at Boston College and her Masters degree from Harvard University. Her research interests include the process of learning to teach in urban settings, social justice in teacher education, practitioner inquiry, and induction for beginning teachers. Kelly is the co-author of two books and the author of over thirteen peer-reviewed publications and thirty-three conference presentations.  Kelly enjoys travelling to new places near and far, yoga, gardening, trying new recipes and reading.  Her proudest achievement is being the mom to two wonderful young adults.
