The CJ program introduces students to the theory and practice of the United States criminal justice system. Course emphasis includes adult and juvenile crime causation theory; criminal and civil procedure; the police; the courts; and institutional and community-based corrections.
- Federal, State and municipal law enforcement;
- Professional human services, including counseling, probation and Parole; and criminal justice agency administration.
At RWU, we are pleased to provide professional education combined with an integrated general education curriculum presenting students with broad exposure to the liberal arts and encouraging the capacity for critical thought, analytical reasoning and scholarly. The Criminal Justice curriculum provides students with an appreciation for the complexity of moral dilemmas associated with the criminal justice profession and prepares them for graduate study or law school.
