There are two upcoming non-credit sections of EMT Basic being offered this fall:
- September 5 - December 19, Tuesdays and Thursdays (6:00-10:00pm) and Saturdays (8:00am - 4:00pm)
- September 5 - October 13, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (5:30-10:00pm) and Saturdays (8:00am - 4:00pm)
Application & Payment Instructions
Tuition is $1,000 for the regular and accelerated non-credit sections of EMT Basic. The cost of books is not included.

The Emergency Medical Technician Program is designed for individuals interested in beginning a career in Emergency Medical Services. Through lectures and labs, students will learn patient care in the pre-hospital setting however, individuals interested in a career in the hospital setting will benefit from the introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, cardiac arrest care through healthcare provider CPR, American Heart Association guidelines, bleeding control and trauma care. Students must take classes for those interested in Paramedicine and/or a degree in Emergency Medical Services.
Provide a foundation for pre-hospital EMS providers;
Ensure the students master the basic life support skill necessary for pre-hospital care as well as advanced life support.
Required Courses (1 course)
EMS 121 – EMT Basic
Completion of a 6-hour American Heart Association for Health Care Providers or the Red Cross Professional Rescuer and consent of the SCS Dean Students will learn Skills in Basic Life Support, Respiratory Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, vehicle extrication, and a new section on Terrorism awareness as it pertains to EMS. There will also be sections on medication administration, use of Automated External Defibrillators, and ambulance operations. Students will also be required to document 8 hours of observation time in a hospital Emergency Room.
