CWPD provides Our Students

with the skills they need to meet the demands of the 21st century job market.

Center for Workforce & Professional Development

The RWU School of Continuing Studies Center for Workforce & Professional Development (CWPD) provides our students with the skills they need to meet the demands of the 21st century job market. We work with partners across industries to create targeted non-credit bearing programs that serve the educational needs of adult learners. Through our portfolio of noncredit professional certificate programs and courses, we provide professionals with targeted and flexible means to advance, change, or refocus their careers and positions within organizations for future advancement.

The CWPD partners with municipalities, businesses, professional associations, schools, nonprofit organizations, and others to design customized professional development and career training that addresses specific business needs. Whether it’s maximizing the potential of an existing workforce, cultivating new leadership or skills, building a pipeline to a specific industry, developing the capacity of businesses, or supporting Rhode Island’s most vulnerable communities, we are here to drive growth with an approach that is as unique as each of our students and partners.
