My Story

Candice De Los Reyes joined Roger Williams University in February of 2012 and currently serves as the Program Manager of the Center for Workforce & Professional Development (CWPD) on the RWU Providence Campus. In this role, she manages programs within the CWPD’s workforce development portfolio, corporate custom education initiatives, and professional development programs for individuals.

Prior to joining the CWPD, Candice spent four years as the Assistant and Associate Director of the lntercultural Center (IC) on our Bristol campus. She joined the IC in 2012, and shortly thereafter implemented the Diversity Leadership Program, a retention-focused mentoring program emphasizing a peer support network and leadership development through a social justice framework for students from underrepresented groups. Her approach was to focus on the intersectionality of race, gender, sexuality, class, faith, nationality, first generation status and other identities, through programming, advocacy, and advising.

Candice also spent four years at the Rhode Island Foundation’s Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence. Shortly after she began there in 2008, she proposed, designed and implemented the foundation’s Nonprofit Emerging Leaders Program, a program which still exists to engage and develop the next generation of nonprofit executive leadership for RI’s nonprofit sector.

Candice began her undergraduate education at Drexel University in Philadelphia, but ultimately returned home to Rhode Island and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
