Ms. Brewerton was born and raised in a small suburb south of Chicago, the youngest of three children. After graduating high school, she decided that she was tired of winter and wanted to attend college somewhere warm. She moved to Tallahassee, Florida to attend Florida State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology in 2007. During her senior year of college, she took a Social Work class and her life was forever changed. If not for that class and that professor, she would never have found her true calling and current profession. Mr. Brewerton attended graduate school at Florida State University. She graduated in 2009 with a Masters in Social Work with a clinical concentration. After graduation, she moved to Tampa, Florida, where she worked in the child welfare system for one year before moving to her current position. Currently, she is in her third year as a school social worker in a district that serves over 60,000 students. Ms. Brewerton is an itinerant school social worker, assigned to three schools (two elementary schools and one middle school). This is her first semester teaching at Roger Williams, and is currently teaching Principles of Program Design in Health Education.
When she is not working or teaching she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, reading books, cooking, and baking.
